Boost your Curb Appeal

It might still be winter in Chicagoland, but that doesn’t have to stop you from boosting your curb appeal. Home buyers are out right now and ready to choose a home to move to this summer. As a seller, your property might not be looking its best, but there are things that you can do, even now, to impress and set it apart from other places out there.

First, clean your porch, your stoop, and your walkway. Get out that spray bottle and really clean the mailbox, the door frame, and the handle. Dust away your cobwebs, clean up your doormat, or even get a new fresh-looking one to greet potential buyers when you’re ready. If the temperature is over 40 degrees, don’t be afraid to bust out the power washer. Fresh-looking concrete, patios, and driveways are so noticeable after that grime and snow melts away. Wash your windows and your screens inside and out. A lot of people also take out their screens and neatly store them in the garage or basement so the light can really shine through in your photos. and your showings will look their best. But do use a labeling system so you know where they go because sometimes people want them reinstalled before they close. Clean and check your outdoor landscape lighting. Are all of your bulbs working? Is everything clean and bright? Since the days are short, you might have showings at night or definitely you’ll have people driving by to see a potential new house for themselves even before they might request a viewing. Make sure your house numbers are clean, visible, and obvious. Pick up all those random sticks and seed pods that seem to appear in the wintertime. Keep your winter flower arrangement.
